Not really okay, guys. 

Ummm… not to be a dick or anything (cause lets face it… I like cows too) but really? Lets compare some things…

Football season is 4 months long and the only thing they use made of leather is the ball… There are 256 regular season games and each game has 36 balls on hand. (which is equivalent to 6 cows per game… and 1,536 cows for the entire regular season). The site you linked says 3,000… so fine. We’ll say 3,000. (I’m thinking my number is off because I didn’t include any post season, even though still it seems inflated… but whatever.)

Now for baseball…. The season is 7 months long. There are a total of 2,430 games in the regular season and each game has 90 balls on hand. That’s 218,700 baseballs. Each hide gives 144 baseballs, so thats 1, 519 cows. Now on to the gloves… there are 25 guys on a team.. and 30 teams. Each player has an average of 5 gloves. That’s 3,750 gloves all of which are typically made from CALF HIDE! because it’s softer. Each calf makes about 5 so that’s 750 babies per regular season. Now we are at 2,269 cows…

All of those numbers don’t even include all 4 levels of professional baseball! 

I think you get my point…

Bottom line… it sucks. But baseball is a much bigger culprit than football. And remember the BABIES?!?!?!
